Master the Muscle Building Diet for Big Gains
When you are first trying to put on muscle, most guys just eat as much food as possible to gain weight. They quickly discover that this doesn’t work, but only adds fat to the body. If you want to add real solid muscle, a certain diet must be followed. Here are some simple ways to help in your quest for building muscle fast.
First of all the body needs protein and lots of it when you are following a really hard workout routine, so of course you want to beef up the protein intake. Most bodybuilders follow a minimum rule of 1-2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight, so this translates into between 200-400 grams of protein for a 200 pound man. How to get this much protein? That’s quite a lot of protein for anyone, so eating just meat and eggs alone isn’t going to be the way. Most bodybuilders rely on Protein Powder to supplement their protein intake, which I strongly recommend doing. There are many protein powders out there, just make sure you use one that has a low sugar content. Otherwise you may gain a different kind of weight instead.
How about creatine? This is another one of those supplements that many bodybuilders use as a shortcut to putting on shredded muscle fast. Creatine is a natural substance found in the body which supplies energy directly to our muscles. Once it is in the muscles it is converted to Creatine Phosphate, a powerful metabolite is used to regenerate the muscles’ ultimate energy source, ATP (adenosine triphosphate). Increasing this natural compound is easy with creatine powder which can be purchased from any health food store. It does occur naturally in meat, but you need to eat a huge amount of meat to gain the fast benefits that occur by ingesting creatine powder.
Of course the supplements are great, but a healthy diet is much more important for getting bigger muscles, since you can never eat just supplements (they only “supplement” your diet, after all). You still need to eat a healthy amount of other foods, such as complex carbohydrates for energy. This can be found in foods like rice, pasta, cereals such as oatmeal or wheat bread, potatoes, and certain beans. Stay away from simple carbs such as sugar-laden snacks, but even fruits contain simple carbs. Of course you need to eat some fruit, for the vitamins and fiber content, but don’t go crazy with them. Too much fruit will lead to a fast increase in your blood sugar content and lead to a big drop later on, which is usually a bad thing for bodybuilders.
