anyone out there taking agnus castus for irregular bleeding?

Have had period probs my whole life. been offered every option under the sun and am now faced with hysterectomy or mirena, which will only be done in a hospital after a D&C. I have no fancy to get MRSA and have consulted a herbalist who recommended Agnus castus, available in all known health shops. Also told white nettle. shepherds purse which to my horror i have mowed off my lawn in droves and liquorice root and vit E. Had one dose of Agnus and felt better immediately. Using super plus lillets at the same time as night time pads and lasting 10-15 mins at worst or 1-2 hours at best before i am soaked. Anyone else used it? if not watch this space and I will try to get back to you.

There is no harm in trying. I have suffered with PCOS for the last ten years or so and I regularly take Agnus Castus (which I get from www.healthydirect.co.uk) I don’t think it makes any difference in the heaviness of my periods but certainly makes them shorter and more bearable. I now have a period every 6 weeks or so, not just irregular bleeding and spotting.
Like you my Doctors tried to persuade me to have a hysterectomy, but I would really like another child, even if the possibility of this is very low. The Mirena coil is very good at regulating (or in my case stopping) your periods, if the Agnus Castus doesn’t work for you I would recommend you give it a go.
