Is this a good food for my dog?

I’ve been looking for a better quality food for my dog, and was wondering what you thought of this one? It’s Arden Grange lamb & rice.

Lamb Meal* (min 30%), Whole Grain Rice (min 26%), Whole Grain Maize, Chicken Fat*, Beet Pulp, Dried Brewers Yeast, Egg Powder, Fish Meal*, Linseed, Fish Oil*, Minerals, Vitamins, Nucleotides, Prebiotic FOS, Prebiotic MOS, Cranberry Extract, Chondroitin Sulphate, Glucosamine Sulphate, MSM, Yucca Extract. * Preserved with mixed tocopherols and rosemary extract.

I live in the UK, so please don’t suggest american brands. Also, raw feeding isn’t an option right now. Thank you.
Cliffina (sorry if that’s spelt wrong) I am currently feeding James Wellbeloved, but wanted to find something with a high meat content. [:

It’s very middle of the road and not one I’d feed. The meat is lamb meal, not lamb, and its got corn and beet pulp, both of which are hard for dogs to digest and a major cause of food allergies. Glucosamine always sounds good but it doesn’t do the dog any good once its been processed into dog food. Fish oil wouldn’t be enough to make a difference.

If your dog does fine on it, then stick with it.

MSM – Methyl Sulphonyl Methane – Help Thicken Your Hair

Methyl Sulphonyl Methane (MSM) is a source of naturally occuring sulphur, one of the essential minerals your body requires for the healthty production of cartilage and the formation of keratin and collagen, for healthy bones, teeth, skin, hair and nails.

Many of today’s modern health complaints can be avoided by ensuring you get enough of this essential mineral.  Thinning hair, skin complaints and joint or muscular problems can be avoided by supplementing your body’s ownmethyl sulphonyl methane.

Full Details

MSM is especially suitable for the following:

  • Skin Hair and Nails – Sulphur is vital for the formation of keratin and collagen, which is found in bones, teeth, skin, hair and nails. Sulphur known as nature’s Beauty mineral keeps the hair glossy and smooth, nails pliable and strong, and complexion clear. Our MSM is available as a powder, tablets, caplets or cream.  The powder is of most benefit to those with severe skin problems, just sprinkle an amount into bath water and bathe in regularly.
  • Athletes – Sulphur is a component of insulin, the very important hormone that regulates the uptake of glucose by cells for use as energy. Sulphur is also needed for thiamine and biotin, which are essential for maintaining healthy carbohydrate metabolism.  MSM also helps to protect and repair any joint damage or problems associated with sports.
  • Elderly – An adult human body should contain 140 grams of sulphur, and nearly half of this is found in muscular tissue, skin and bones. Unfortunately, as we get older the levels of MSM diminish which can lead to joint problems. Sulphur is a vital element for the body to produce and regenerate healthy cartilage.

MSM is available in several different forms, tablets, caplets, powder and creams.  The White Crystalline powder is recommended for those with extreme skin problems who will benefit from sprinkling an amount into the bath for bathing in.  For general maintainance of joints, skin and hair then tablets or caplets are best.  Many people also benefit from topical application of cream to enhance the results.

It is not advised to take MSM when on any blood thinning medication unless directly advised by your GP.
