what would make a paint horse lose all of his white?
I have a paint horse that is about 4-5 months old.. We rescued him from some people and have only had him for about a month now.. He still had alot of his winter coat, so we body clipped him.. about 2 wks later we noticed that the wrinkles along his neck were starting to get very hard… 2 days later we went down to the barn and his white coat was literally falling off! I had the vet come the next day and she took a liver sample to see if that was bad(it wasn’t) so she thinks the only thing it could be, is he ate something in the pasture.. What ever it is, basically happened over night.. It looks like it would be sunburn, but she said that there is no way that it is..Has anyone heard or seen of such a thing? It didn’t effect the bay part on his body only the white!

You should contact your county ag. agent and get him to come out and walk your pasture/paddock with you to look for possible causes. And until you determine the cause you should only turn this baby out at night.
Wrinkle Reducers From The Diet

Animal fats (cheese, butter, red meat, milk, pork, etc.) contain fats that build inflammatory chemical synthesis. The best idea is to ditch these types of foods and focus more on fish and skim milk products.
2. Get lots of essential fatty acids. Fish oil and flax seed oil are the two essential fatty acids that are wrinkle reducers and make your skin fit and vibrant. Many scientific studies have demonstrated that fish oil fights inflammation (this is the reasoning behind arthritis researchers frequently recommending it. When you frequently swallow these good fats, the aging process slows down. Take fish oil supplements every day, and while you’re at it take flax seed oil to boost skin health even more.
3. Ignore trans fats. Trans fats lead to disease in all of your cells, including skin cells. Never consume products that contain oils that are “partially hydrogenated,” as this is just another term for trans fats.
4. Skip omega-6 fatty acids. This is a really crucial rule. Americans get a lot more omega-6 fats than omega-3 in their diets. The biggest culprits are cooking oils (corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower seed oil, etc.) and processed foods (favorites like cookies, bread, and snack foods). If you want healthy skin, avoid overly processed foods, and cook with extra virgin olive oil. This advice alone will rescue your skin!
There are also a number of awesome health benefits you’ll receive from altering the types of fats you eat, including:
1. Improved memory and functionality of the brain.
2. Enhanced cardiovascular health.
3. Decreased depression and feelings of anxiety.
4. Heightened gray matter in the brain and less age-related brain shrinkage.
5. Decreased triglycerides (a dangerous blood fat that is related to development of cardiovascular disease).
